Height 4 Hire adds its 1000th machine

Height 4 Hire is celebrating the delivery of its 1000th Machine: an Optimum 8 Scissor lift from Haulotte, with both companies marking the event with a handover at Height 4 Hire’s facility in Richlands. Height 4 Hire is based in Queensland in the north-east of Australia.

Establshed in 2010 Height for Hire is now Queensland’s largest privately owned and operated supplier of access hire and scissor lift hire equipment. Owner of Height 4 Hire, Ken Baker, said, “We have become well known in the hire industry for providing reliable, safe and well-maintained equipment. We are so proud of our growth over the last 12 years, which is thanks to great staff, customers and high quality, reliable machines like Haulotte scissors and booms. Our fleet has grown from 55 machines, and we look forward to adding another 1000 EWP’s in the future.

“There have been some changes during my time in the industry: there’s an even greater focus on safety and Haulotte has been at the forefront of proving safe working conditions for the operators of these machines,” adds Baker.

The 1000th Haulotte machine for Height 4 Hire is an Haulotte Optimum 8 one of 285 that Height 4 Hire now has in its fleet. The ‘Opti’ as it is known in the industry, is a compact and versatile electric scissor lift designed for indoor use. It has a maximum working height of 7.8m and a platform capacity of 230kg, making it ideal for a range of applications. The lift has a compact design that allows it to manoeuvre easily in tight spaces and narrow aisles. Other features include a roll-out deck extension, battery management system and maintenance-free, AC electric motors.

Managing director for Haulotte Asia-Pacific, Damien Gautier, describes the importance of Australian customers to the Haulotte Group internationally. “The Australian market is one of our highest growing across the world and we are proud of the growth we have seen in recent years. Being here to celebrate these milestones is just part of the ongoing partnership that Haulotte brings to its customers.”

Haulotte has been providing lifting equipment to Height 4 Hire since 2010 starting first with 20ft scissor lifts and expanding to include other electric and diesel scissors and booms. Gautier said, “It’s about the relationship for us, we don’t just supply machines, we are a partner, for our customers growth, for their service needs and for machine improvements. We work together to deliver the best solution for their needs all while providing the great range of Haulotte innovations like Sherpal telematics, Safety systems and efficiency improvements.”

Baker explains why trust and good relationships are key to running his family business. “It’s the relationships I have with Haulotte and the people in it. I know that if there’s a problem, they’ll support me.”
